Specialist, Robert S. Kay, Contracting Officer Provide services to
dispose of seven (7) each portal cranes, including the concrete
counterweights, located in the controlled industrial area (CIA) of the
Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. The contractor
shall be responsible to provide all lifting and transportation
equipment, which may require the use of a crane, trailer truck and/or
a barge with towing services. Clean up of the area shall also be the
contractor's responsibility. The Navy will provide the space to work.
Many of the still serviceable crane parts have been removed for reuse
by the government. There are fixed asbestos in the control panel
boards, brake linings and wire runs in the conduits. All cranes are
painted with lead pigment paint. Compliance with EPA and safety
regulations shall be followed and enforced. No cutting, burning or
chipping shall be permitted. Cranes--One (1) 15 long ton (lt) Star
crane has no wheels or travel trucks. It is blocked up on its legs and
cannot be moved from where it is. One (1) 25 lt Wellman crane is also
immobile. The other five (5) cranes, four (4) each, 25 lt Kaltenbach
and one (1) each, 50 lt Star Iron crane, can be moved by the PHNSY to
another selected work site. The purpose and intent of the work is to
scrap the entire machine. Period of performance: Estimated at eight to
twelve working days per crane. Escorted site visit: Thursday, March
21, 1995, at 8:30 a.m. Your company name, plus name, date of birth,
social security number and a copy of a birth certificate shall be
submitted for each person attending no later than March 13, 1996. Fax

attend the site visit shall meet at the Naval Station Pass and ID
office, Nimitz Gate, no later than 8:00 a.m., March 21, 1996, for
further transportation to the job sites. Date of site visit is subject
to change. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall
