Hager at (404)842-6553 Correction: This action originally publicized in the CBD dated 0118 is corrected as follows: This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This is Solicitation 96-50 and is issued as a Request for Proposal (RFP). The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular Number 90-32. The procurement is UNRESTRICTED. The standard industrial classification code (SIC) is 3845. The small business size standard is no more than 500 employees. DESCRIPTION OF REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ITEMS TO BE ACQUIRED: One (1) Ea. SM342 Harmonized 8 Channel Smoking Machine with ATCOM and COA 100; One (1) Ea. VMD 100 Velocity Measurement Digitizer with Printer; and One (1) Ea. VPS 102 Thermoelectric Air Velocity Anemometer. All items shall be delivered with 30 days after the date of contract award. Deliveries shall be made, F.O.B. Destination, to: Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Building 17 Loading Dock, Room 1022, 4770 Buford Hwy., N.E., Atlanta, GA 30341. The FAR provisions at 52.212-1, Instructions to Offerors--Commercial Items, FAR 52.212-2, Evaluation--Commercial Items, and FAR 52.212-4, Contract Terms and Conditions--Commercial Items, apply to this acquisition. The Government will award a contract resulting from this solicitation to the responsible offeror whose offer conforming to the solicitation will be most advantageous to the Government, price and other factors considered. The following factors shall be used to evaluate offers: (1) The machine shall be designed for the collection of particulate matter from cigarette or cigar smoke and the collection of the vapor phase--20 points; (2) The machine shall conform to all ISO 3308:1991 and CORESTA Methods--40 points; (3) Availability of replacement parts and timely service--20 points; (4) Price--10 points; and (5) Past Performance--10 points. The offeror shall include a completed copy of the FAR provision at 52.212-3, Offeror Representations and Certifications--Commercial Items. The offeror is advised that FAR provision 52.212-5, Contract Terms and Conditions Required to Implement Statutes or Executive Orders--Commercial Items, applies to this acquisition.
