Bechtel Nevada Corporation is seeking qualified sources to provide Architect and Engineering Services for design of a new two-story, 22,000 square foot building for the United States Department of Energy, Nevada Field Office. Requirements will include professional Title I, II and III architect and engineering services for the design and preparation of construction plans and specific actions for a two-story structure located at Andrews Air Force Base, Maryland. Design will include demolition of an existing building, reconnection of utilities, site grading and drainage, area lighting, landscaping, paving and stripping, and a new satellite dish/pad. The building will be masonry and steel, secure, illuminated two-story, with a standing seam metal roof with enhanced seismic resistance. The first floor shall contain alarmed office areas, secure working areas, training room, computer room, shipping & receiving area, Crypto vault, secretary/receptionist area, administrative office, and a freight elevator. The second floor shall contain a general office area, scientific offices, emergency response center, secure forty (40) person conference room, scientific laboratory, data reduction area, and storage areas. The estimated cost of construction is in the $4,000,000 to $5,000,000 range. It is anticipated that services will begin in Fiscal Year 1996 with Title I and II design services complete in Fiscal Year 1997, and Title III services complete in Fiscal Year 1999. Determination of qualified sources will include past and present experience of the firm and personnel.
