To provide all labor, tools, technical data, parts and materials necessary to perform essential hardware maintenance, both remedial and preventive for the Teradyne J953 Automated Microcircuit Tester J953 located at Rome Laboratory, Rome, NY. It is the Government's intent to make an award to Teradyne, Inc., 321 Harrison Ave., Boston, MA 02118 on a sole source basis. Justification supporting the sole source is the design uniqueness and custom electronic modules utilized. In addition, the technical data is proprietary by the manufacturer, Teradyne, Inc. Anticipated date of order placement is 1 Apr 1996. An Ombudsman has been appointed to hear significant concerns from offerors or potential offerors during the proposal development phase of this acquisition. Routine questions are not considered to be ''significant concerns'' and should be communicated directly to the Contracting Officer, E.J. Rena, 315-330-7518. The purpose of the Ombudsman is not to diminish the authority of the Contracting Officer or Program Manager, but to communicate contractor concerns, issues, disagreements and recommendations to the appropriate Government personnel. When requested, the Ombudsman will maintain strict confidentiality as to the source of the concern.
