Assistance Division, Bldg. 301, Room B117, Gaithersburg, MD 20899 B -- SINGLE CRYSTAL DATA FOR METALS AND ALLOYS SOL 52SBNB6C9068 DUE
031896 POC Linda Shariati (301) 975-5053 The National Institute of
Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to obtain data on
crystallographic properties of metals and alloys from the National
Research Council of Canada, Canada Institute for Scientific and
Technical Information. The National Research Council of Canada will
deliver to NIST a magnetic tape and descriptive documentation of
chemical, crystallographic and bibliographic data for approximately
54,000 metallic substances (such information includes but is not
limited to: chemical formula, bibliographic citation, structure type,
Pearson symbol, published unit cell parameters with their standard
deviations, space group symbol, space group number, crystal system,
measured and calculated densities, indicators for powder data, neutron
data, non-room temperature data, instrument type, and number of
formula units per unit cell). This collection of evaluated data on
crystallographic properties of metals is unique in the world and has
been developed over the last twenty years under the direction of NRC
Canada with the expertise of world-renowned crystallographers. The
abstraction of the data is in accordance with specific rules which have
been developed over time by NIST. NIST requires delivery of the data
within 3 months of contract award - FOB Destination. See Numbered Note
