COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF JANUARY 31,1996 PSA#1521325th Contracting Squadron, Specialized Flight, 501 Illinois Avenue,
Suite 5, Tyndall AFB, FL 32403-5526 D -- CONFIGURATION MANAGEMENT TOOLS FOR THE CONTROL OF THREE MILLION
LINES OF CODE TRAINING AND TECHNICAL SUPPORT Contact Fran Kennedy,
Contract Specialist, (904) 283-8663; Larry G. Edwards, Contracting
Officer (904) 283-8661. The NORAD System Support Facility (NSSF) at
Tyndall AFB is contemplating the acquisition of configuration
management tool(s) for the control of 3 million lines of code. Request
that potential vendors provide information concerning their
configuration management (CM) tools, training, and technical support
information. The data provided shall be no more or less than that which
would be provided to commercial organizations considering the purchase
these supplies and services. If the products and services are
available on GSA schedule or other government standard contract
sources, please include that information along with your package. Your
information will be used in the development of Government procurement
documentation. Follow-on discussions may result if further
clarification of your information is required. It is desirable that the
CM tool(s) take advantage of existing hardware platforms within the
NSSF. Those platforms are Sun host(s) supporting user Sun workstations,
HP workstations and Windows PCs. The Windows PCs are connected over
Banyan Vines. A VAX 8200 mainframe employing CMS supports code control
today, but is approaching the effective end of its life cycle. The
Vines network will be replaced during the next two years by an industry
standard office network. Windows will be replaced by Windows 95
targeted prior to the third quarter of 1996. All networking
environments share the same physical cable plant. The desired
operational capability will be to provide a (client/server) seamless
environment for engineers and support staff in the conduct of CM tasks.
The Government will not incur any expense for any information, travel,
discussion or demonstration software/documentation that results in
direct response to this notice. All responses from responsible sources
will be considered. Interested sources are requested to submit all
relevant brochures, delivery and GSA schedule information (if
applicable) not later than 30 calendar days after publication of this
Notice. No collect calls will be accepted. This is a Request for
Information only. This request does not in any way constitute an IFB or
RFP, and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government. For
contracting issues contact Ms. Fran Kennedy, Contract Specialist, at
(904) 283-8663. For technical issues, contact Major Steve Reeder, at
(904) 283-5620. (029) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0021 19960130\D-0002.SOL)
