4259. SOURCES SOUGHT: The Marine Corps Systems Command is seeking
information on potential sources of a replacement for the AN/TPS-63 and
AN/TPS-73 radar. The replacement radar must be capable of detecting
tactical aircraft to 150 nmi/100,000 ft, medium range TBMs to 200
nmi/500,000 ft and low observable (0.01 m2 targets) to the radar
horizon with a 90% probability of detection for each. Additionally, the
system must possess the capability to initiate a ''search and track''
on information obtained from either a Cooperative Engagement (CEC) Net
or Tactical Digital Information link J (Tadil J) and a low probability
of intercept (LPI) transmission characteristics. The radar must be
highly mobile, able to be moved by a single 5 Ton truck with a set up
time of 10 minutes or less. At this time, the Marine Corps is only
interested in surveying industry to determine the level of interest and
capability therein. NO SOLICITATION IS CURRENTLY AVAILABLE OR SCHEDULED
FOR RELEASE. Any responses to this announcement must be in writing and
forwarded to the address above. The due date for responses is 28 March
1996. Interested parties are invited to provide any information
detailing their capabilities and product offerings. This information
will potentially be used in making a decision as to whether or not to
