COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF FEBRUARY 1,1996 PSA#1522(1) 9TH NATIONAL SYMPOSIUM SENSOR FUSION, MARCH 11-13, 1996; (2) 1996
MEETING OF IRIS SPECIALTY GROUP ON PASSIVE SENSORS, MARCH 12-14, 1996;
AND (3) 1996 AUTOMOTIVE NIGHT VISION/ENHANCED DRIVING CONFERENCE, JUNE
4-5, 1996 (1) The 9th National Symposium on Sensor Fusion will be March
11-13, 1996, at the Naval Postgraduate School, Monterey, CA. The
symposium has as a goal the development of sensor fusion into mature
discipline of system engineering. The meeting will emphasize the
engineering aspects of sensor fusion as well as the broader need for
sensor fusion to meet the U.S. Government's initiatives. As the
principal DoD sponsored conference dealing with sensor fusion, this
program will encompass all aspects of sensor fusion requirements,
applications, and technologies. Active and passive RF/EO/IR, acoustic
and other sensor technologies involved in sensor fusion will also be
covered. The sessions scheduled are: (a) System Applications; (b)
System Applications - Targeting; (c) System Applications-Intelligence
Correlation; (d) System Applications-Multispectral Imagery; (e) Joint
NSSF/Passive Sensors; (f) Systems Applications-Missile Defense; (g)
Systems Applications-Warning; (h) Performance Modeling and Estimation;
(i) Fusion Architectures; (j) Level 2 Fusion theory: Track
Correlation/Target State Estimation; (k) Level 4 Fusion theory: Sensor
Management/Process Refinement; (l) Level 2/3 Fusion
Theory-Exploitation of Contextual Information; and (m)
Performance-Multispectral Signatures. Meeting is Classified, restricted
to U.S. Citizens who are DoD Contractors and/or DoD Government. The
symposium is being administered by the Infrared Information Analysis
Center located at the Environmental Research Institute of Michigan, Ann
Arbor, MI. For more information, please call Rose Coleman, Sr.
Conference Coordinator, at (313)994-1200, Ext. 2881/2821. (2) 1996
Meeting of IRIS Specialty Group on Passive Sensors will be held March
12-14, 1996 at the Naval Postgraduate School, Monterey, CA. The
sessions scheduled are: Enabling Technologies; Systems Status & Test
Results; Signal Processing; Analysis; Modeling, Simulation and
Validation; Advanced System Concepts and Simulations. There will also
be an evening session on Uncooled Technology. On Tuesday evening, a
``FLIR EXPO'' will be held at the NPGS Officers' Club Ballroom. (For
more information on the Expo, call Leo Vroombout at (614)424-3977.) The
meeting is classified, restricted to U.S. Citizens who are DoD
contractors and/or DoD Government. The meeting is administered by the
Infrared Information Analysis Center located at the Environmental
Research Institute of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI. For more information,
please call Rose Coleman, Sr. Conference Coordinator, at (313)994-1200,
Ext. 2881. (3) The 1996 Automotive Night Vision/Enhanced Driving
Conference, hosted by the U.S. Army National Automotive Conference
(NAC), in conjunction with the Environmental Research Institute of
Michigan, will be held on June 4-5, 1996 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel,
Dearborn, MI. The purpose of this conference is to stimulate the
exchange of information between the night vision and imaging radar
sensor community and potential automotive (car and truck) users of this
technology. The 1996 program will overview many of the technologies for
automotive night driving/all weather driving, vehicle displays and
collision warning. It will also discuss integration issues into
automotive systems, present human factors requirements and driver
response modeling, and discuss joint government/industry programs to
reduce component costs/technical barriers. The conference will also
feature displays from both industry and government organizations on
sensors, components and systems. The conference highlights new markets
for advanced sensors. The conference registration fee is $95.00 per
person and all registrations must be confirmed by Friday, May 24, 1996.
For conference registration packages and program information, please
contact Rose Coleman, ERIM, (313)994-1200, Ext. 2881. For organizations
that desire to present new technical information related to
night/enhanced driving or desire to display hardware, etc., please
contact Mike Dudzik, ERIM, (313)994-1200, Ext. 3346 by May 1, 1996. Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0715 19960131\SP-0002.MSC)
