39 -- ENGINEERING STUDY OF UPGRADE TO 150-TON PORTAL CRANE SOL N62472-95-R-1452 DUE 022996 POC Contact Point, POC William H. Wedler, (610)595-0505, Contracting Officer, Margaret Gettings, (610)595-0505 The Government proposes to negotiate a Sole Source Contract with AmClyde Engineered Products, the original equipment manufacturer (OEM), St. Paul, MN 55107, for an analysis of the 151 Ton Portal Crane at Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard. The purpose of the analysis is to determine what modifications to the crane are necessary to upgrade the capacity to 165 Tons. The design analysis is scheduled to be accomplished during the summer of 1996. The design drawings for the crane are the property of the Government; however, the analysis programs used in the design of the crane are the property of AmClyde. Any firms that believe they are capable of performing this analysis are requested to submit a detailed proposal which shall include: a statement of qualifications with a list of similar projects performed; an explanation of how the necessary design data will be obtained without the availability of the analysis programs used in the design of the crane and the ability to meet the actual schedule. The proposed contract is for supplies and services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. The Government reserves the right not to compete this requirement based upon evaluation of responses received as a result of this notice.
