The National Institutes of Health plans to negotiate on a SOLE SOURCE basis with General Electric Medical Systems, under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, pursuant to 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1). The planned contract is for Maintenance Services and Upgrades in our research facility for the General Electric SIGNA Magnetic Resonance Imaging System for one basic 12-month period plus four 12-month option periods. It is the Government's belief that these requirements can only be met by General Electric Medical Systems. This is not a formal solicitation. However, concerns that respond to this notice shall supply pertinent information in sufficient detail to demonstrate their ability to perform.
