S -- BIN UNIT WAREHOUSING SERVICES SOL SSA-RFP-96-2566 DUE 032396 POC Stephen Slaughter (410) 965-9513 The Social Security Administration (SSA) has a requirement for and also intends to issue a solicitation for a competitive 8(a) acquisition for the operation of Bin Unit Warehousing Services at headquarters in Woodlawn, MD. The Bin Unit is responsible for the storage and issuance of forms and instructional/training materials used by SSA offices throughout the United States. This Bin Unit is located in the SSA Supply Building, 6301 Security Blvd., Woodlawn, MD and occupies 30,000 square feet. Responsibility also includes the replenishing and processing of stock requisitions. SSA anticipates awarding a firm, fixed-price contract with four 1-year option periods, if exercised. This requirement has been set-aside 100 percent for 8(a) minority and disadvantaged business concerns in all stages of development. This requirement has been approved for the 8(a) program by the Small Business Administration (SBA). It is anticipated that a Request for Proposal (RFP) will be issued on or about February 7, 1996, with proposals due 45 days later.
