Jones, (804) 441-7358 The work consists of dredging of a segment of the Dismal Swamp Canal and an adjacent part of the feeder ditch. Dredging dimensions at the Dismal Swamp Canal are a width of 50 feet to a depth of 9 feet LW (DSCD) plus 1 foot of allowable overdepth. Dredging dimensions at the feeder ditch are a width of 30 feet to a depth of 9 feet LW (DSCD) plus 1 foot of allowable overdepth. The dredged materials shall be placed in the designated government-furnished upland placement site only. The work involves dredging approximately 10,000 cubic yards of mostly fine-graded sand material, including allowable overdepth. Total length of all dredging areas is approximately 2,800 feet. Pumping distances vary from approximately 700 feet to 3000 feet. Magnitude of the project is estimated between $250,000.00 and $500,000.00. Duration of the project is 90 calendar days.
