A -- FOLLOW-ON CONTRACT TO WRITE SPECIFICATIONS AND GUIDELINES FOR IMPLEMENTING METHODS OF ASSESSING MEDICAL REVIEW EFFECTIVENESS POC Mr. Lee J. Spicher, Contract Specialist, (410) 786-8919. The Health Care Financing Administration (HCFA) intends to negotiate, on a Sole Source basis, with Lewin VHI, Inc. to procure Written Specifications and Guidelines for Implementing Methods of Assessing Medical Review Effectiveness. These specifications and guidelines will be based on methodologies developed by Lewin VHI, Inc for assessing the effectiveness of Medicare Parts A and B Medical Review. This procurement is a continuation of major research performed by Lewin on a previous HCFA contract. If there are no affirmative written responses received within 15 days that demonstrate a comparable source more advantageous to the Government, HCFA will proceed with awarding a contract to Lewin VHI, Inc.
