DHHS/PSC/AOS/DAM has a requirement for NCR/COMTEN software licenses and hardware maintenance. In accordance with 41 U.S.C. 253 (c)(1) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1, the Government knows of only one source, NCR Corporation, Rockville, Maryland, capable of providing the required services. The Government has a need for support and maintenance of NCR/COMTEN communications controller software. The services required include (1) updates, error corrections, modifications, enhancements, extensions or improvements to the software which are made generally available to the NCR/COMTEN customer base; (2) consultation via telephone or in writing to be available weekdays from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm est to provide assistance with problems arising in the installation and use of the licensed products; and (3) error correction for government-documented errors in licensed products. The Government also has a need for preventive and on-call remedial maintenance of NCR/COMTEN communications controller hardware. For remedial maintenance, a two (2) hour response time is required between the hours of 8:00 am and 4:00 pm, local time. Maintenance services are required for sixteen (16) government sites in the following cities: Atlanta, GA; Boston, MA; Chicago, IL; Dallas, TX; Denver, CO; Washington, DC; Baltimore, MD; Bethesda, MD; Rockville, MD; Kansas City, MO; New York, NY; Philadelhia, PA; San Francisco, CA; and Seattle, WA. The period of performance will be from the effective date of the contract through September 30, 1996 (approximately five (5) months) with two one-year option periods. Concerns having the ability to provide the services described herein are requested to provide written documentation evidencing their capability and the telephone number for a point of contact. Responses, which must be received within forty-five (45) calender days after publication of this notice, are to reference requirement 213-96-0014 and be addressed to Bettie Hartley at the above address. If no affirmative responses are received, the Government will proceed with negotiations with NCR Corporation. No solicitation package is available. Therefore, responses requesting a solicitation package will be considered non-affirmative responses and will not be given further consideration. See numbered Note 22. (0033)
