The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has a requirement to obtain 250 each Handar Part No. 439-7001 FM or equal. The Handar part number 439-7001 fuel moisture stick is used with the Handar model 435A relative humidity/air temperature sensor which fits inside the stick. The dimensions of the stick are critical and calculated to provide the user with an accurate equivalent of the fuel moisture stick weight and to allow the Handar 435A sensor to be removed easily for calibration, even after swelling has occurred as a result of gathering moisture.
