Features of DB2 to include extended SQL, COBOL pre-compiler, language support for ADA, C, and COBOL, and support distributed databases. Software use at and to be delivered to HQ, usmepcom, Chicago, illinos. NO contract award will be made on the basis of offers/proposals received in response to thisnotice. A synopsis of intent to place an order cannot be considered arequest for offer/proposals. Other interested firms able to meet these requirements at prices, terms and conditions more favorable than those to the reference vendor, IBM, are invited to submit responses, but only in writing with clear and convincing documentation NO later than 15 days after issue of this notice to Rock Island Arsenal, Attn: Siori-CTA/Terry Kraker, Rock Island IL 61299-5000, telephone (309)782-8570. As a result of analyzing responses to this synopsis of intent, the Contracting Officer may determine that a Solicitation will be issued.
