Stroman, Contracting Officer, 202/307-1969. The Department of Justice,
Executive Office for Immigration Review has a nationwide requirement
for on-site interpreter services at immigration hearings throughout the
United States and its Territories. The successful offeror will be
required to provide qualified and trained interpreters to perform
on-site interpreter services in multiple foreign languages for the
Immigration Courts. These courts are located in federal and private
buildings, and Criminal Alien Program (CAP) sites, which include but
are not limited to correctional institutions and detention facilities.
The Immigration Court conduct immigration hearings in these courts and
at designated detail cities, to resolve various immigration matters.
Additionally, interpreter services, although not frequent, may be
required for the Board of Immigration Appeals and the Office of the
Chief Administrative Hearing Officer. The use of telephonic
interpretation or telephonic language line may be required for hearings
in some locations. Services will be ordered on an as needed basis and
will include simultaneous as well as consecutive interpretation. The
contract will provide for a base year of performance (expected to begin
on October 1, 1996) and include options for four additional one-year
periods. Interested firms must send a written request for the
