This project is for the purposes of providing facilities in the New
York City area for Coast Guard Units. Contractor shall provide all
labor, material, equipment, transportation, mobilization and
demobilization required to renovatean existing Administration Building
to provide office facilities, and the Boathouse to provide male/female
wetroom facilities, and construct a new Maintenance Building at Sandy
Hook. The work includes building demolition, hazardous materials
abatement,earthwork, site utilities, site lighting, paving,
landscaping, concrete, steel and masonry building construction,
roofing, interior finishes, floor coverings, plumbing, HVAC and fire
suppression systems, and power, fire alarm, communications and
datasystems. Estimated price range is $1,500,000 - $3,000,000. Duration
of contract period is approximately 14 months. Plans and Specifications
and/or Plan Holders List will be available approximately 20 Feb 1996
and must be ordered in writing. There isa nonrefundable charge of
$20.00 for each solicitation set. Make checks payable to the ''U.S.

This Notice isfor informational purposes for Minority, Women-Owned and
Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The Department of Transportation
(DOT) Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU),
has programs to assist minority, women-owned anddisadvantaged business
enterprises to acquire short-term working capital and bonding
assistance for transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to
any eligible prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding
Assistance Program enables firmsto apply for bid, payment, and
performance bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an
80 percent guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses.
Loans are also available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program
(STLP) at primeinterest rates to provide accounts receivable financing.
