O'SULLIVAN, (215)697-9689 The Fleet & Industrial Supply Center (FISC) Norfolk Detachment Philadelphia intends to procure 2,000 sets of a three (3) book set, with the following titles: ''THE COLLEGE HANDBOOK, 1996'', ''INDEX OF MAJORS AND GRADUATE DEGREES, 1996'', and ''COLLEGE COSTS AND FINANCIAL AID HANDBOOK, 1996'', (Set No. 23987, Soft Cover), or equal. This three(3) book set, 1996 edition, is by the author/publisher, College Board Publications. Information provided by the college handbook shall include comprehensive facts about more than 3,200 two- and four-year accredited colleges; the latest information on admission requirements, college costs, financial aid policies, special academic programs, student activities and campus life, freshman class profile, enrollment, and college setting; an extensive guidance section to help students make wise college choices; and other special features including indexes of division I, II, and III colleges offering NCAA sports, and lists of historically black and predominantly Hispanic colleges. Information provided in the index of majors and graduate degrees shall include a directory of 600 undergraduate majors, 470 master's degree programs, 380 doctoral programs, and 10 professional programs including law, medicine, and dentistry; lists of colleges offering special academic programs such as weekend college, study abroad, internships and more; a complete list of undergraduate and graduate majors; and a brief description of each major. Information provided in the college costs and financial aid handbook shall include a step-by-step guide providing complete costs plus financial aid and scholarship availability at 3,200 accredited two- and four-year colleges; a detailed guidance section covering such important subjects as estimating financial need, applying for financial aid, assessing financial aid awards, responsible borrowing and working while going to college, with sample cases; and an Important Feature providing indexes to colleges that award scholarships for achievement in academics, the visual and performing arts, and sports. Delivery is required to the Defense Activity for Non-Traditional Education Support (DANTES), Pensacola, FL by 20 April 1996.
