The work includes the construction of a microwave antenna range and other associated structures. The sitework includes clearing and grading large quantities of earth covering about 80 acres and also includes utilities and roadway work. Much of the existing site has been harvested, and the contractor shall remove and dispose of existing slash and debris. The project also includes the construction of various small structures supporting the range activities. These structures include architectural, structural, and MEP work. The contractor shall also construct several structure foundations for erection of Government furnished and installed antenna towers and anechoic chambers. This Government work and the construction activities will be coordinated. The project also includes a prepriced option for the construction of a plastics laboratory. The estimated construction cost if between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. Plans and specifications will be available on 21 February 1996. The bid opening date is 26 March 1996. A non-refundable charge of $100 per solicitation package is required and checks should be made payable to the Department of the Treasury c/o EFA Chesapeake.
