(Site Code DAKF57) Fort Lewis is a U.S. Army Military Installation located 15 miles south of Tacoma, Washington. The existing railroad crossing is on East Lincoln Drive, the road to Spanaway, located on the south side of the Fort Lewis Logistics Center and next to McChord Air Force Base. The principal items to accomplish are: Remove the existing 70 lb rail and 90 lb asphalt rail crossing and replace each crossing with approximately 39 feet of 115 lb relay/rail. The rail shall be installed using a modular precast concrete crossing system; All necessary compromise bars, the plates, nuts and bolts for a complete crossing shall be provided. Associated asphalt cutting and patching to be included; Other work necessary to accomplish the above. Completion time is 300 calendar days. Estimated cost of this procurement is between $25,000 and $100,000.
