Center intends to award a sole source contract to Plicon Corporation
for coextrusion (film) for FORSCOM Materiel Redistribution Center
(FMRC). The coextrusion must be fully compatible with General Packaging
Equipment Company's form/fill/seal machine model # 70LCM. The
coextrusion will be furnished in rolls with a 13 inch width and a
repeat length of 10 inches (both measurements are required within one
sixteenth of an inch). The rolls will have a 3 inch (ID) core. The
guage will be 4.50 MIL thick (plus or minus 8%). Each roll will have
3,000 impressions, totalling 2,500 feet per roll. Impressions will have
printing laminated in two colors, and a design with an over paint
varnish. The printing and/or lamination process for print and design
must not interfere with the strength of the 4.5 MIL coextrusion or the
placement and seal of a fitment. Each roll must be individually
wrapped for sanitation and must comply with all federal, state and
local laws concerning safety and sanitation. All interested parties
shall respond in writing, giving complete and sufficient information to
show capabilities to provide these supplies for FMRC and to permit
review for conformance to agency's requirements. Capability information
must include product performance data on General Packaging Equipment
Company's form/fill/seal machine model # 70LCM. Interested parties must
also provide cost data along with their technical capabilities.
Responses must be received within 15 days of publication of this
notice. No solicitation document exists, therefore, requests for such
a document shall be considered invalid for the purpose of determining
whether the respondent has a bona fide capability to meet the stated
requirements. As a result of analyzing responses to this synopsis of
intent, the Contracting Officer may determine that a solicitation will
be issued. If a solicitation is issued, no additional synopsis will be
published. Any such solicitation will be issued to the intended
contractor and all firms that respond to this synopsis of intent or
otherwise request a copy of the solicitation. Contractors requesting a
copy of the solicitation without providing information about their
capabilities to provide the supplies required will not be considered
when evaluating the feasibility of preparing a solicitation. However,
all responses from responsible sources will be fully considered. No
telephonic responses will be honored. Responses should be sent to: Army
