The work involves the demolition and disposal of various in-water structures, piling and dolphins. The work includes the cutting of approxamately 250 piles below the mudline in the intertidal areas and approxamately 400 piles above the mudline in the subtidal area. Several deterioated dock structures and appurtenances will be removed. Demolition debris will include creosote/PCP treated wood from pilings, dolphins, dock structures and sunken logs; untreated wood from dock structures and sunken logs, and miscellaneous steel items. Existing overhead utilities will be removed. All resulting demolition materials shall be disposed of or recycled as appropriate for the type of contamination associated with the wood treating facilities and the applicable regulations.
