The Corps of Engineers, is interested in procuring an industrial vacuum for use primarily at the Pittsburgh Engineer Warehouse and Repair Shops (PEWARS). The vacuum will be part of a negative-pressure, fully enclosed containment system for blasting of lead based paint systems on lock and dam components using Black Beauty (registered trademark) or equal as blast media. The unit will also be used with temporary containments on site at local navigation structures and flood control projects for similar applications. The industrial vacuum shall be a self-contained, trailer-mounted unit furnished complete with diesel engine drive including fuel and electrical systems; vacuum pump; collector; filter elements; storage hopper; hose, ducting connections; housing; mountings, accessories and appurtenances as specified. The vacuum unit and all its component parts and accessories shall be new and of current standard production, of industrial or commercial grade suitable for prolonged exposure to weather and severe operating conditions. All parts requiring periodic maintenance and servicing shall be readily accessible. The design of the unit shall permit removal of component parts without dismantling entire assemblies. The industrial vacuum unit, shall be delivered assembled and ready for immediate service. The contractor is required to provide a minimum of four hours of on-site training to Government employees in the operation, maintenance and care of the industrial vacuum. Deliver to PEWARS, 3500 Grand Avenue, Neville Island, PA. within 90 days of contract award. Written requests must be forwarded to the Contract Specialist.
