CZECH REPUBLIC: DRAFT ORDINANCE ON FOOD AND TOBACCO PRODUCTS The following notification is being circulated in accordance with Article 10.6. G/TBT/Notif. 96.7. 1. ICS numbers may be provided in addition, where applicable): Food and tobacco products: HS 0701-0714, 0801-0814, 0901-0910, 1001-1008, 1101-1109, 1501-1509, 1601-1605, 1701-1704, 1801, 1805, 1806, 1901-1905, 2001-2009, 2101-2106, 2201-2209. 5. Title and number of pages of the notified document: Draft Executing Ordinance to the Law on the Food and Tobacco Products (available in Czech). 6. Description of content: The Draft Ordinance specifies obligations set in the Law on the Food and Tobacco Products, relating to the manufacturing and distribution, respecting individual sorts and groups of products. There are given their characteristics bound to the individual name or kind of the group of the food or tobacco products. A producer using a certain name is obliged to follow and keep given criteria as a propriety. This is done so as a consumer may not be deceived. The Draft Ordinance is divided into General part and Special part: The General part contains the following provisions: 1. Food labelling; 2. Process of sampling for food control and HACCP; 3. Tolerances of the mass of the product labelled with ``e'' symbol on package; 4. Freezing of the food; 5. General requirements on food for special dietetic use. The special part contains the description of basic characteristics of individual kinds, groups and subgroups of the food products, as follows: Meat and meat products; poultry and derived products; game; fish and seafood; eggs and egg products; milk and milk products; ice creams, edible ices; edible fats and oils; fresh fruit and vegetables; processed fruit; processed vegetables; dried shell fruit; mushrooms; ware potatoes; cereal products; legumes and derived products; oil fruit for direct consumption; pastes; bakery products; sweet bakery products; starch and derived products; sugar and its sort; honey; non-chocolate confectionery; cocoa and its mixes; coffee, coffee substitutes; chocolate and chocolate confectionery; tea and herb tea; beverages alcohol-free; fruit wines; beer; spirit and spirit beverages; vinegar; mustard; yeast; spices; white salt; soups dehydrated; dressings and cold gravies; ready-made food sterilized; tobacco and tobacco products. 7. Objective and rationale: Prevention of deceptive practice. 8. Relevant documents: (1) Announcement will appear in the Official Journal of the COSMT.
