COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF FEBRUARY 13,1996 PSA#1530Immigration & Naturalization Service, Procurement Division, 425 I
Street, N.W., Room 2208, Washington, DC 20536 R -- TELEPHONE HOTLINE SERVICES POC James Bannister, Contracting
Officer, (202)514-0017. The INS intends to award a single source
contract to Travellers Aid of Victim Services, Inc. to provide
multi-lingual, culturally sensitive telephone hotline assistance for
the State of New York for a one-year pilot project. The contractor will
provide information to immigrants and citizens about the naturalization
process, benefits available to immigrants and other related subjects,
including information about community organizations and resources
available to provide immigration and naturalization assistance. The
satisfaction of this Government requirement will provide relief to the
Immigration and Naturalization Services' (INS) New York District
Office, thereby freeing-up INS personnel to help eliminate the current
backlog of naturalization applications. At a minimum, hotline
assistance must be provided in the English, French, Spanish and Chinese
(Mandarin and Cantonese) languages. Interested concerns must
demonstrate an immediate ability to provide the required assistance in
the above identified languages and have an established immigration
hotline. Should this one-year pilot prove successful, a fully and
openly competed contract will be contemplated for the future.
Interested concerns should reply to this announcement by mail to:
