J -- DOCKSIDE REPAIRS TO USCGC THETIS (WMEC-910) Sol DTCG80-96-B-3FA792. Due 041096. Contact Leon Borroum, Contract Specialist at (212) 668-3477. Provide all labor, material and equipment necessary for the Dockside Repairs to the USCGC Thetis. Work for these dockside repairs is to be performed at the vessel's homepier. The work which may be performed includes but may not be limited to the following minimum items: 1. Clean the #1 and #2 SDDG and Emergency Generator In-Place 2. Renew Ventilation Ducting 3. Inspect and Repair Fin Stabilizer Systems 4. Overhaul Vaneaxial Fans 5. Overhaul Starboard Anchor Windlass Assembly 6. Overhaul and Weight Test Articulating Crane (Iowa Mold Tooling Co. Model M318) 7. Overhaul and Weight Test Motor Surf Boat Davit Assembly 8. Preserve Exterior Weather Decks. The proposed contract will also contain indefinite items including, but not limited to: 1. Welding Repairs - USCGC Thestis' homepier is Key West, Florida. Vessel is 270 Feet in Length. USCGC Thestis' Availability Schedule is 29 July 1996. There will be a non-refundable charge required in the form of a certified check or money order made payable to the U.S.Coast Guard in the amount of $100.00 for requested drawings and publications. The proposed contract listed here is open to both large and small businesses. Plans and specifications will be issued on or after 05 March 1996. All responsible sources may submit a bid which shall be considered by the United States Coast Guard. For Minority, Women-owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT) Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization has programs to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short-term working capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts. Loans are available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates up to $500,000 per contract to provide accounts receivable financing. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, performance and payment bonds up to $500,000 per contract. DOT provides an 80 percent guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses.
