In furtherance of the Small Business and Small Disadvantaged Business Program, Congressman Joe Scarborough, the Air Force Development Test Center, Eglin AFB, FL, the Naval Coastal Systems Center, Panama City, FL, and the University of West Florida Procurement Technical Assistance Center are hosting ``Small Business in the Sunshine,'' a procurement opportunities conference for small and small disadvantaged businesses on Thursday, 7 March 1995 from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM at the Sandestin Beach Hilton Hotel, Destin, FL with registration beginning at 7:30 AM. The objective of the conference is to create opportunities for small business and small disadvantaged business through contracting with the Government and subcontracting with large prime contractors. Representatives from major defense and civilian federal agencies in the Southeast will be available to counsel small business firms on potential business opportunities at their agencies. There will also be representatives from major defense prime contractors in attendance to discuss potential subcontracting opportunities. State and local government buying agencies have also been invited to attend. Various training seminars will be conducted concurrently with the individual counseling. Contemplated seminars include: Electronic Data Interchange (EDI), The Source Selection Process, the Technology Transfer Program, and Contracting with the GSA. The cost of the conference is $10 per attendee.
