National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has a sole
source requirement for three replacement neutron collimator parts from
Euro Collimators Limited (ECL) of Cheltenham, Gloucestershire,
England. The first set of collimator parts is for a radial oscillating
collimator designed by NIST which will be assembled by ECL from
mechanical parts jointly supplied by NIST and ECL. This radial
collimator has a radius of 300 mm with an internal height of 250 mm, a
width of 100 mm, and an acceptance angle of 170 degrees. The 84 vanes
which make up the collimator are made of stretched polyester 0.10 mm
thick, coated with 6 layers of gadolinium oxide. The body of the
collimator is made of aluminum. The second group of collimator parts is
for a linear collimator with an angular resolution of 7 minutes. Its
internal dimensions are 124 mm high, 28 mm wide and 597 mm long. It has
aluminum vanes 0.05 mm thick coated with gadolinium oxide. It has a
mild steel frame 597 mm in length, 174 mm high, and 48 mm wide. The
third set of collimator parts is also for a linear collimator with an
angular resolution of 60 minutes. Its internal dimensions are 102 mm
high,19 mm wide and 305 mm long. It has Melinex vanes 0.05 mm thick
coated with gadolinium oxide and has a mild steel frame 305 mm in
length, 126 mm high, and 57 mm wide.--Delivery 12 weeks after award of
