The Department of Veterans Affairs, Acquisition Operation Service (93),
seeks responsible sources who can demonstrate their ability to meet the
following requirements: 1) LABELING CAPABILITIES: The source will
supply and design-assist in providing general, multi-functional
labeling capabilties to include, but not limited to prescription
labels, mailing labels, and document paper with an approximate label
size of 13 3/8'' X 5''. The label is pin fed and will be utilized in
impact printers; however, the vendor must be able to able support the
use of labels in non-impact printers. 2) WAREHOUSE AND DISTRIBUTION:
The general scope of the requirement provides that the source have the
abiltiy to accommodate a national volume of approximately 250 million
labels. This demand may be divided into 3-4 separate regional
contracts servicing the continental US, Puerto Rico, Hawaii, and
Alaska. Warehousing and distribution systems must be able to support
multiple delivery points to facilitate customer needs. The source must
also provide for multiple ordering mechanisms for the customer,
frequent deliveries, and adequate response time dependent upon customer
needs and environment. 3) FORM MANAGEMENT: The source must tailor
reports to meet customer needs at local, regional, and national levels
in content and frequency. The customer requires order tracking
capabilties and the ability of the source to establish a just-in-time
forms management system that can facilitate the needs of local
customers. 4) SERVICE: The customer requires the establishment of a
local customer service number, a return policy, and a customer service
plan that details problem resolution terms and plans. All written
responses must include a written narrative statement of capability, to
include similar work conducted, statement detailing the amount of time
required to deliver products to facilities from the time of award, and
all other literature demonstrating the ability to meet the above
