On or about Thursday, February 15, 1996 the United States Postal Service, Facilities Service Office, 6 Griffin Road North, Windsor, CT, 06006-0300, will issue Solicitation No. 082530-96-A-0052 for building renovations at the Main Post Office, 777 Main Street, Westbrook, Maine. Sealed offers are due Thursday, March 21, 1996 no later than 4:00 p.m. Work shall be completed within one hundred and twenty (120) calendar days. The estimated cost of the work is between $200,000.00 and $400,000.00. Contractors will be required to complete and submit ''Contractor's Qualification Form'' with their proposal and award will be made to the contractor submitting the best combination of technical and price proposals. THERE WILL BE NO PUBLIC OPENING OF THE PROPOSALS AND THE RESULTS OF THE ADVERTISEMENT WILL NOT BE PUBLISHED UNTIL AWARD OF THE PROJECT. There will be a preproposal conference held on site (Main Post Office, 777 Main Street, Westbrook) beginning at 11:00 am, Thursday, March 7, 1996, to discuss the specifics of this project. Attendance is not mandatory but is strongly suggested. Work includes but is not limited to renovations of the existing Westbrook, ME postal facility lobby and interior, and construction of a new Postal Retail Store. The work also includes demolition, relocation of lockboxes, studding, sheetrock, flooring, acoustical ceiling, painting, miscellaneous structural work, store fronts, electrical and mechanical. Minimal site work is required.
