The Social Security Administration is attempting to identify vendors
that can provide an off-the shelf Enterprise System Security software
product and subsequent installation and maintenance support for such
software. The salient characteristics of the desired software shall
include the following functionality and features: 1) System security
integration on large heterogenous network systems supporting
mainframes, Wide Area Networks, Local Area Networks, Workstations and
relational data base servers in a Cooperative Processing Architecture;
2) Support SNA, Token Ring, TCP/IP protocols; 3) Support UNIX, NOVELL,
DOS, WINDOWS, OS/2, JES, MVS Operating systems; 4) Interface to CA-TOP
Secret; 5) Support up to 65,000 users; 6) Single sign-on environment
across a heterogenous network; 7) User authentication and password
synchronization across all platforms; 8) Resource access controls; 9)
Centralized system security administration; 9) Security and access
control audit; 10) Common touch and feel across all platforms for: -
Security Administration, -Security violations monitoring, - Security
audit trail processing, -Security report processing. Firms having the
capability and expertise in Enterprise System Security software shall
have the knowledge and skills in distributed system security access,
centralized system security monitoring, user maintenance and
management, detailed audit monitoring and system security integration
on large heterogenous network systems. Vendors able to provide the
required software and maintenance/support service are invited to
submit, in writing, (NO FAXES) complete details. Responses must clearly
state the ability to provide the required level of integration,
detailing the software, systems and integration services needed to
accomplish this task. Any questions or clarifications concerning this
announcement and the requirements herein should be submitted in writing
as well. Interested parties must respond to this notice in writing
within 15 calendar days from the date of this publication. PLEASE REFER
TO ISP96.JT when responding to this announcement. This is a request for
product information only, not a Request for Proposal(RFP). No contract
award will be made on the basis of responses received; however, this
information will be used in SSA's assessment of capable sources. The
Government does not intend to pay for information received. Requests
for copies of a solicitation will not be honored or acknowledged.
