The Contractor shall provide long term technical assistance to the system of credit unions and their national associations to demonstrate the feasibility of rural credit unions to meet the financing needs of the rural population while operating safely and becoming self-sustainable after U.S. Government funding has ended. USAID envisions a five year project to restructure and modernize two apex organizations (FECANIC and FUNDE) and approximately 28 rural credit unions.
