COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF FEBRUARY 16,1996 PSA#1533NASA/Goddard Space Flight Center, Code 214.4, Greenbelt, MD 20771 99 -- SPACE FLIGHT OPPORTUNITIES FOR SCIENTIFIC INSTRUMENTS POC Thomas
S. Russell, Contracting Officer, (301)286-2885. NASA/Goddard Space
Flight Center is interested in determining the availability of sources
having spaceflight opportunities for secondary instruments on
commercial spacecraft and spacecraft constellations. Many scientific
instruments requiring minimal weight, power and data rates may be
compatible with planned commercial ventures. These opportunities may
support either a singular instrument demonstration or an investigation
that benefits from a globally distributed set of sensors that measure
an event of scientific interest. Indications of interest are sought
along with rough estimates of available on-orbit resources. Suggestions
are solicited as to the pre-flight process, operations, and
compensation for using these opportunities. NASA/GSFC wants to
determine the range of possibilities and number of potential
opportunities that exist to support this secondary instrument concept;
therefore, NASA invites any interested firm with the capabilities to
supply these opportunities to submit specific ideas and information,
including capabilities, experience, past performance and
qualifications. Acknowledgement of receipt will not be made; however,
sources deemed capable and interested in exploring this opportunity
will be considered for any future specific solicitations. This is not
a request for proposal and should not be construed as a commitment by
the government. Prospective sources should submit the requested
information within 30 days after publication. (0045) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0475 19960215\99-0004.SOL)
