is to develop and implement a nationwide survey of the general public
to assess attitudes, knowledge, and behaviors regarding pedestrian and
bicyclist motor- vehicle safety. The survey will be designed to assess
the public's awareness of pedestrian and bicycling risks, its knowledge
of safe walking and riding behaviors, its use of education and training
programs, and to explore interactions among drivers, pedestrians, and
bicyclists. The results of the survey will provide a background of
information for agency guidance in developing and implementing programs
to address these traffic problems. It is contemplated that a cost
reimbursement type contract will be awarded for this effort. The
anticipated period of performance is twenty-four (24) months This
solicitation will be mailed to those organizations responding in
writing to this announcement. The anticipated issuance date is March
