P -- CHARGED COUPLED DEVICE (CCD) CAMERA SYSTEM SOL RFP5-69485/980 DUE 021496 POC Genia M. Lyons, Contracting Officer, (301) 286-0532. NASA/Goddard Space Flight Center intends to issue RFQ5-69485/980 on a sole source basis to Pixel Vision, Inc., 15250 NW Greenbrier Parkway, Suite 1250, Beaverton, OR 97006, for the acquisition of a Charge Coupled Device (CCD) Camera System Model SV1000-UV to include readout electronics. The Shuttle Ozone Limb Sounding Experiment (SOLSE) requires a CCD Camera where the head is less than or equal to 2 inches wide, preferably heremeticaly sealed, the window to the camera is of fused silica, suprasel, or quartz, the photosensitive area of the CCD array is at least 13mm wide on one side, the ultra violet (UV) quantum efficiency fo the array over 290-345nm is better than 30%, and the camera head must include a cooling device, preferably a Thermoelectric Cooler (TEC). Pixel Vision, Inc. has designed the smallest camera head on the market that is equipped with a Theroelectric Cooler (TEC) in a sealed package that only sits in the optical layout design for SOLSE. All responsible sources may respond by submitting a written narrative statement of their capability, including detailed technical information, and other technical literature, demonstrating their ability to meet the above requirements within 15 days of the publication notice to the above address. The response shall be sufficient to permit agency analysis to establish bona fide capability to meet these requirements. This procurement will be conducted under simplified acquisition procedures, and is reserved for small business. The Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) Code is 3674, with a small business size classification of 500. Quotations received from a Small Business will be considered.
