The Monongahela National Forest anticipates contracting for professional engineering services to provide site survey, structure design and consulting services for the Laurel Fork Bridge. The contract will involve all work to recommend and design the type, size, and location of an approximately 30.48 meter long single lane vehicular bridge to be built in conjunction with a timber haul road. Consultant services will be limited to submittal review and a site visit during construction of the bridge. The bridge site is located approximately 10 kilometers southeast of Wymer, Randolph County, West Virginia via Forest Road 14 and proposed Forest Road 826. The proposed contract time is 126 calendar days, not including consulting services. The estimated construction costs are between $100,000 and $250,000. Interested firms should submit their SF 254 and SF 255 to the address identified previously, no later than March 1, 1996. Responses received shall be evaluated on the following criteria: (1) Professional qualifications necessary for satisfactory performance of required services; (2) Specialized experience and technical competence in the type of work required; (3) Capacity to accomplish work in the required time; (4) Past performance on contracts with Government agencies and private industry in terms of cost control, quality of work, and compliance with performance schedules; (5) Location in the general geographical area of the project and knowledge of the locality of the project; and (6) Volume and nature of present work load as it relates to the ability to perform the work required.
