The 746th Test Squadron, Holloman AFB NM has a requirement for five Global Positioning System (GPS) satellite signal simulators (SSSs), whose interface is compatible with that of the Nortel 2760 Portable Field Jamming System (PFJS) simulator. The SSSs must operate with existing Government developed software designed to interface with the PFJS simulator. The integration of these SSSs with the Government developed software requires knowledge of proprietary hardware and software information of the Government's current SSS configuration. The SSSs are required to produce 10 channels of L1 C/A and P-code, but not L2. The SSSs must be available for delivery no later than 60 days after contract award. Based on information available at this time and in accordance with 10 USC 2304 (c)(1), the Government considers the equipment specified as a sole source acquisition from Northern Telecom Inc., Radio Infrastructure, and proposes to negotiate with this firm on that basis. However, should additional firms be identified, they will be considered. Firms who feel that they can provide the required equipment based upon the criteria and the time frames specified herein are invited to submit in writing an affirmative response to this announcement within 30 days of publication of this notice. All responsible sources may submit a response which shall be considered by the agency. An affirmative response must include information regarding the required equipment which includes its capabilities, compatibility, and availability. This information will be evaluated and used to determine if competitive opportunities exist. This synopsis may represent the Government's only notice of this acquisition.
