CZECH REPUBLIC: ANIMAL NUTRITION MATERIALS The following notification is being circulated in accordance with Article 10.6. G/TBT/NOTIF. 96.10. 1. Member to Agreement notifying: Czech Republic. If applicable, name of local government involved (Articles 3.2 and 7.2): 2. Agency responsible: Ministry of Agriculture. 3. Notified under Article 2.9.2. 4. Products covered (HS or CCCN where applicable, otherwise national tariff heading. ICS numbers may be provided in addition, where applicable): Animal nutrition materials - HS 2309. 5. Title and number of pages of the notified document: Draft Animal Feed Act (32 pages). 6. Description of content: The draft law sets the conditions for the production, usage, quality control, packaging, labelling, transportation and placing on the market of feeds, feed pre-mixes and additives (in the following referred to as the feed products), and for prevention to the deceptive practices in production and deceptive declaration. The following Articles of the law are being notified under the TBT Agreement: Section 5 - obligations of the producer/importer to keep records on production/import of feed products; Section 8 - obligation of the producer/importer to be registered, prior to the beginning of the production/import, by the Central Agricultural Checking and Testing Institute; Section 11 and 12 - list of requirements on labelling and packaging of the feed products; Section 17 - requirements on the sampling and testing of the feed products. 7. Objective and rationale: Animal feeding quality. 8. Relevant documents: (1) Announcement will appear in the Official Journal of the COSMT; (2) Law on Animal Feed; (3) Collection of laws. 9.
