This project consists of the abatement of friable asbestos pipe insulation and floor tile in the basement of four buildings and the abandoned steam tunnels connecting the buildings at the Grafton Job Corps Center located in North Grafton, Massachusetts. The work will require the construction of permanent barriers to prevent access to the other tunnels, and the installation of a tempered make up air unit and associated work in the cement masonry shop area. The period of performance for construction is 140 calendar days from receipt of notice to proceed through completion of the project. The estimated cost range of construction is between $100,000.00 and $250,000.00. Initial Plans and Specifications will be available on March 12, 1996, only from the Architect/Engineer firm of MFPA, Incorporated, 192 Worcester Road, Natick, Massachusetts 01760. It is emphasized that requests for plans and specifications should be directed the A/E firm listed above to ensure proper handling of requests. Plans and specifications will be made available for pick up at the A/E's office and also for delivery at an additional charge. Requests must be in writing and will be answered on a first-come, first-serve basis until the initial supply is exhausted. For requests made after the initial supply is exhausted, a non-refundable fee not to exceed the actual cost of reproduction of the IFB documents (to be determined by the Contracting Officer,) plus a shipping charge based on each individual request (if applicable,) will be required in order to obtain the IFB documents. Pre-Bid Walk-Thru is scheduled for March 26, 1996, at 9:00 a.m. (local) at the Grafton Job Corps Center. This will be the only opportunity to review the job site prior to submission of bids.
