Fleckenstein,303/236-1770 Pursuant to the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program, solicitations for construction services in SIC Group 15 issued by GSA Region 8 shall be set aside for small business when there is a reasonable expectation of obtaining competition from two or more small businesses. Therefore, small businesses having the ability to perform as prime contrac- tor for construction services are requested to give written notification (include the telephone number for a point of contact) within 21 calendar days from the date of this synopsis, to the following address: GSA, Business Service Center (8PB-B), Building 41, Room 145, Denver Federal Center, P.O. General buildings systems upgrade including HVAC, electrical, passenger and freight elevators and replacement of the cooling tower; install new secured elevator; provide new concerete parking area and site drainage; remove west dock and construct new north dock; provide new courtroom and ancillary spaces and probation suites on first floor; remodel existing U.S. Postal Service area. Options will be included for additional work as funding allows. Work is to be done in phases. Construction will be in metric. Contractors must be able to secure bonding capacity of $5-10 million. Prime contractors must be able to perform at least 12% of the construction work. The level of response to this synopsis will determine whether this acquisition should be set aside for small businesses. Note that this is not a formal solicitation. However, concerns that respond should furnish detailed data concerning their capabilities and may request a copy of the solicitation when it becomes available.
