510/437-5916. Provide all labor, materials and equipment to fabricate,
install and maintain and remove navigational aid buoys in the
Kuskokwim River, Alaska. A minimum of 12 double drum and 17 single drum
buoys are to be set in palce on or around 01 Jun 1996 and removed on or
around 15 Oct 1996. The buoys must be installed under the supervision
of a competent person who has no less than 5 seasons of experience in
the operation of motor vessels of at least 10 foot draft upon the river
between the Port of Bethel and the mouth of the Kuskokwim River. Recent
experience is defined as having made no less than 10 transits in
vessels of at least 10 foot draft upon the river during the past 12
months. This individual must have local knowledge of the locations of
the most desirable channel(s) for vessels with a maximum draft of 15
feet. This solicitation will be issued on or around 15 Mar 1996. The
SIC Code is 3443. The size standard is no more than 500 employees. When

The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid,
performance and payment bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT
provides an 80% guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against
losses. Loans are also available under the DOT Short Term Lending
Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable
