ext 234 New Sources Sought: During the period 1 October 1995 through 31
December 1995, inclusive, the Defense Information Technology
Contracting Office-Pacific (DITCO-PAC), Services and Equipment
Division, contracted with lessors of communications services, generally
common commercial carriers, to supply the leased communications
services required by the military services, other Departmentof Defense
organizations and the FAA within the State of Hawaii and originating
from the State of Hawaii to other Pacific areas. The communications
services leasedby DITCO-PAC during the above time period included a
wide spectrum of communications ranging from narrow band (voice grade)
to wide band (1.544 megabits and higher) voice and data services.
These leased services are generallypoint-to-point dedicated private
line communications with two (2) service terminalslocated on military
or other Government property. During the above period of time,
DITCO-PAC issued a total of 55 orders to add new leased communications
services. Life of each new service ranges from one to ten years. This
contractingwas accomplished pursuant to the requirements of the
Competition in Contract Act(CICA) of 1984. A similar level of
contracting is expected by DITCO-PAC during the second quarter of FY
96, January to March of 1996. DITCO-PAC desires to expand its current
bidders list by adding contractors with the experience and resources
necessary to compete for DITCO-PAC orders/contracts. If your company
has the capability to furnish the point-to-point leased communications
services within the State of Hawaii, please submit a letter requesting
your company be addedto the DITCO-PAC bidders list. Your request should
include statistical data of yourcompany to include financial and
operational background information sufficient toshow the existence of
experience and resources commensurate with the level of technical
complexity and monetary investment which should be anticipated in
suchundertakings. Also include a Standard Form 129, detailing
specifically the types ofservices which your company can supply (ie.
interbase on island or interisland private line services). A similar
announcement will be published quarterly untilfurther notice. Please
