Affairs Central Office, Acquisition Operations Service intends to
issue a request for proposal for a Replacement Telephone System at the
VA Medical Center, Montrose, New York, RFP 101-20-96. This replaces
RFP 101-36-95. The Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) code for
this procurement is 1731. This procurement is being offered for
competition limited to Small Business Administration (SBA) 8(a) firms
serviced by the following SBA District Offices: New York, NY; Buffalo,
NY and Newark, NJ. Interested 8(a) firms must have 1731 among their
approved SIC codes. This procurement will include Davis Bacon Act and
Miller Act provisions. The solicitation package will be available
through the VA Bulletin Board System (BBS). There are two ways to logon
the VA OnLine BBS, from VA World BBS or direct dial. If you are logged
onto VA World, just use the Internet option at the main menu. Then go
to the telnet menu and select ''v'' to VA OnLine or dial direct (800)
871-8387 @ 14.4 bds. To reach the VA WWW Server, you must have access
to a commercial Internet account and specific WWW software. Access the
VA WWW site at http://www.va.gov/ to download the solicitation to your
PC. It is anticipated the solicitation document will be issued on or
after April 1, 1996. Prospective offerors should check the VA BBS on a
periodic basis in the event the solicitation is issued earlier.
