Social Security Administration (SSA) is seeking sources capable of
fulfilling a fixed-price per call maintenance requirement for
Government-owned Executone IDS 108/228 telephone switching systems.
Maintenance will be for approximately 350 field offices located
throughout the continental US and its territories. This will be a
five-year contract beginning in Fiscal Year 1997. Maintenance and
support service shall be provided for systems that consist of but not
limited to, switching devices, station equipment, InfoStar/VX voice
mail/auto attendant (up to 8 ports/systems), automatic call
distributors, battery back-up systems, power supplies, voltage
protection devices, power failure systems, T1 carrier cards,
multiplexer interfaces, CRTs printers answer/record devices, data
interface equipment, as well as cable distribution from the demarcation
point established by the local serving regulated telephone company to
the system. In addition, maintenance and support service shall also
include riser, feeder, station equipment and ancillary equipment cable.
Maintenance shall include labor, documentation, repair parts, supplies,
tools, test equipment, transportation and other related maintenance
services to keep all equipment in good operational condition.
Maintenance requirements shall consist of remedial (routine and
emergency call-out) on-call maintenance to be performed on a
fixed-price per call, preventive (scheduled) on-site and remote
programming, service observation, remote diagnostics, replacement of
equipment that can't be repaired, system relocation and modular
furniture installation. This is not a request for proposal and the
Government does not intend to pay for the information solicited or
received. Respondents will not be notified of the results of the
evaluation of the source data received, but sources deemed qualified
will be solicited when the request for proposal is issued. Any
interested organization must submit appropriate data in duplicate
within fifteen (15) days of the date of this announcement. Requests for
