58 -- WIRELESS TELEPHONE SYSTEM POC Contact, Mike McDonald, Sr. Subcontract Administrator, (510) 423-7287 The University of California, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, seeks sources for a wireless telephone system that will work with the existing AT&T #5 Electronic Switching System (#5ESS). The system provides 20,000 lines, of which 50% are ISDN (Integrated Services Digital Network) and 50% are analog. Of the ISDN lines, approximately 200 are data equipped. The system interfaces with an Octel voice mail system, a Compulert monitoring system, and an ICE-9 telemanagement system. The minimum services required by the wireless telephone system shall be to provide access to all services currently provided by analog telephones such as call transfer, call forwarding, speed dialing and voice mail access; provide modular design that allows easy expansion and reconfiguration. Desired features include: battery backup; headset capability; remote diagnostics and system management; and data transmission capability. Services required include: engineering system including all hardware, software and installation requirements; option for maintenance and administration services. Interested firms should respond with a description of qualifications with respect to the foregoing or related fields. The small business size standard applicable to the proposed acquisition is 1000 employees. Firms qualifying as a small business with respect to this standard should so state.
