Considering actual printing cost, the Government has reduced the charge of each set of solicitation documents, drawings and specifications from $600 to $350. The following summary statement of work is for information purposes: The above project is located at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland. This project includes construction of new structures and utility distribution at various locations throughout the NIH campus. The contracto shall provide all management, supervision, equipment, manpower and supplies necessary (unless otherwise specified) to perform Utility Tunnel Expansion. The general focus of the project is to extend, parallel or replace existing utility services including chilled water, high pressure steam, pumped condensate, sanitary sewer, domestic water, high voltage electric service, compressed air, fiber optic communication conduits, 20 way electrical ductbanks and natural gas to various existing, new and future facilities located throughout the campus. Included is relocation of existing santitary and stormdrain facilities, environmental concerns and protections. Included in performance of this contract are tunnels, covered trenches, direct buried utilities, value vaults and manholes. Modifications to existing structures include the Central Chilled Water Tunnel, Central Steam Tunnel, and the East Central Connector Tunnel. New construction includes the West Central Connector Tunnel, East Header, the North Trench and Direct Buried Work. Phasing Plans have been developed to minimize disruption to the NIH campus. The contractor is advised that continuation of normal activity on the campus is of highest priority. (0052)
