Efficacy Trial of an Acellular Pertussis Vaccine N01-AI-25138 The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases intends to negotiate with the Istituto Superiore di Sanita for a three year extension of Contract N01-AI-25138 in order to extend clinical surveillance of study subjects in our pertussis clinical trial in Italy to assess long term duration of immunity and efficacy, and safety issues. Only the Istituto has the trained personnel, arrangements with local clinics, patient population and intimate knowledge of the clinical trial needed to successfully perform this additional surveillance.
