Duties consist of but are not limited to detecting and reporting smokes or fires within and adjacent to the Deschutes National Forest, to monitor and forward radio messages, and if requested and required, take, record and report weather conditions. Minor facilities maintenance may be performed by the Contractor using Government supplies and equipment. Spring Butte is located 18 miles southeast of Lapine, OR. The first 11 miles of road are paved, the remaining 7 miles are cindered and dirt roads. Award will be for the first year with the option to renew for a second year. Approximate start date is 05/25/96. Contract time is approximately 160 days. This is 100% set-aside for Small Business Concerns.
