K -- UPGRADE EQUIPMENT SOL N00181-96-R-0031 POC Nancy Hassell-Sitar, Code 531, (804) 396-8345 Norfolk Naval Shipyard (NNSY) seeks to upgrade an integrated steel grit blasting, reclamation and ventilation system used for the blast cleaning and re-paint preparations of shipboard tanks. Due to drydock constraints, NNSY needs to either position large/tall size upgraded equipment at greater remote distances from the work area and/or position additional/replacement equipment that will fit in confined spaces near the tanks. The remote location is elevated 60 feet above the job site and would require service hose/line lengths up to 300 feet long. The upgrade should retain as much as possible the simultaneous blast, reclaim, grit cleaning and auto-pot reload features desired for blast cleaning, efficiency and minimizing radioactive waste. A site visit will be conducted during the solicitation period.
